Micro and nanoplastics imaging – from classic to innovative methods

Date

11. Jun 2024

Location

SDU Odense Campus, lokale U301

Closed for registration

Micro- and nanoplastics are fragments smaller than 1 millimeter and have become a major global environmental challenge in recent years. To improve analysis methods, you are invited to this workshop organized by PlastTrack.

Mirco- and nanoplastics are a global environmental challenge. Scientific studies have highlighted fragments in all parts of the world and even in environments that were considered pristine. Sampling and analyzing micro and nanoplastics from abiotic and biotic environments has become more challenging and there is greater motivation to develop new technological solutions and methods.

In this workshop, the partners of the Interreg project PlastTrack will present current and potential microscopic and analytical methods used in plastic analysis, their advantages and limitations and their combination with new approaches to solve the problems. Furthermore, challenges and needs in risk assessment of plastic products will be discussed.
