Are you interested in cleantech and the development of sustainable solutions? Do you want to be a part of supporting CLEAN in our efforts to implement sustainable solutions in industry, cities, and regions in Denmark and around the world?

CLEAN is Denmark’s environmental triple-helix cluster, coordinating the cooperation between companies, authorities, and research institutions in order to develop and facilitate solutions within the fields of waste management, water technologies, air quality, soil remediation and other environmental areas.

As an external consultant in CLEAN, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Support the Brazilian team of the Circular Plastics in the Americas Program (CPAP), under the component of “Innovation, Showcase of Technologies & Models”, in the following way:
  • Support the process of design, evaluation and implementation of pilot projects that will be developed in 2023, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in collaboration with public-private partners.
  • Provide technical assistance to the pilot projects, including monitoring to mitigate any risks and secure the greatest impact of funds spent.
  • Encourage networking and partnership development, organizing follow-up meetings between the stakeholders involved in the Solution Development Workshops to support continued collaboration, with a view to developing applications for pilot project funding.
  • Manage the CPS Facility, to disseminate the results from the innovation events, keeping the stakeholders engaged, bridging gaps between counterparts, and bringing visibility to further activities developed by the CPA and its partners.
  • Support the planning and arrangements for the missions/delegations from Brazil to Europe, based on the challenges and solutions scoped in the innovation process and the pilot projects that will be developed in 2023.
  • Technical support to the implementation of the waste hierarchy, extended producer responsibility and deposit return schemes for plastic products/waste.

 

  • Support development of new opportunities in Brazil, and Latin America, within CLEAN focus areas:
    • Map local needs and opportunities for international collaborations.
    • Identify funding opportunities.
    • Engage with local existing, and potential, key-partners (SMEs, universities, public authorities, etc)
    • Assist on project development (grant & tender application writing).
    • Support communication strategy.
    • Administrative activities (preparation of materials for meetings, schedule meetings, take minutes etc)

We expect the following: 

  • That you have a high personal drive and a motivated team player, but also pro-active and able to work independently and take responsibility from day one.
  • That you already have a bachelors’ degree in a relevant field of communication, social science, business school, humanities etc.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the waste management, recycling and/or plastic industry sector.
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and business orientation.
  • An interest in the cleantech sector and international cooperation.
  • Strong communicational skills and fluent in Portuguese and English.
  • Experience in graphic design, word processing, databases, spreadsheets, Power point, and WordPress. Relevant for presentations and marketing material.
  • Availability for at least a part-time position (18.5 hours a week).
  • Proven work experience with international donors would be an asset.
