A core objective in the action plan of the European Green Deal is to “make circularity work for people, regions and cities”. This system-level transformation towards a circular economy requires concerted action and a holistic approach that brings together stakeholders from different parts of the quadruple helix.
In other words, it requires efficient and interconnected innovation ecosystems to accelerate the adoption and up-take of circular innovation. The 3R Connect project seeks to support the development of joint action plans in three focus regions: Flanders, Northern Portugal, and Greater Copenhagen.
The purpose of the project is to convene companies, public stakeholders, and research institutions around the development of joint actions towards a circular economy. The actions will specifically focus on Reducing, Reusing and Rethinking resources within plastics, textiles, and construction.
The 3R Connect project is funded under the Horizon Connect programme (Interconnected Innovation Ecosystems).
