InWAP

The project Innovative Algae Platform for Industrial Wastewater Valorization (InWAP) aims to develop a microalgae platform for the complete valorization of industrial wastewater. It addresses the industries’ needs for economically favorable wastewater treatments strategies.
The project is a bilateral cooperation between Denmark and India and is funded by Innovationsfonden.

Microalgae will be grown in different wastewater where the already present nutrients will help its growth with less demand for fresh nutrients. The use of ceramic membranes to treat the harvested culture medium towards reuse will make the entire process less dependent on fresh-water.

InWAP is a three year research and development project involving 3 Danish partners and 3 Indian partners:

  • DTU Technical University of Denmark
  • KMC Kartoffelmelcentralen Amba
  • CLEAN
  • Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG)
  • Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT)
  • G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT)
